Supercross Icon Series BMX Bikes
If you are a serious BMX racer than I’m sure your familiar with Supercross BMX. Bill Ryan and crew have been around since the early 1990’s making high quality BMX racing frames and parts that have helped many top riders find their way to the winners circle.
Now with the Icon Series of complete BMX Bikes, Supercross has succeeded in offering complete, race ready out-of-the-box bikes to help you win a few races of your own. We can see that alot of thought was put into specing these bikes.
The Icon line consists of 5 models, Mini, Juniour, expert, Pro, and Pro Cruiser. Each model is bulit around the EVO series aluminum race frame.
The Pro and Pro Cruiser models feature Speedline 3 Pc Cro-mo Heat Treated Cranks w/ Alloy 6mm Chainwheel, Speedline Alloy Micro Adjust Seatpost, Supercross BlueStreak Tires, ACS Main Drive Freewheels, Tektro V-Brakes and Levers, and roll on Light Weight Weinmann Double Wall Alloy ZAC 19 Rims.
The mini, junior, and expert models feature AC Mini LE Cranks w/ Alloy Chainring, Supercross Padded Mini Saddle w/ Integrated Post, Alex Double Wall Alloy Aero Rims, and Intense Micro Knobbies.
All models feature a Full Cro-mo Fork, FSA Headsets, Sealed Bearing Hubs, Double Wall Alloy Rims, Sealed Bearing Bottom Brackets, Alloy Platform Pedals, Kraton Rubber Grips, Teflon Lined Slick Cables and KMC Chains.
The mini, junior, and expert models retail for $499, The Pro and Pro Crusier models retial for $519.
Overall, the Supercross Icon Series complete bikes are good value, speced well with quality, brand name components, and priced competitively. The only change we might like to see, especially on the Pro models, would be replacing the stock rear hubs with cassette hubs.
