Here we have a set of the legendary Redline Flight cranks. Redline invented the 3-piece crank way back in the early 80′s when everyone was still running 1-piece cranks. For almost a decade these were the only cranks you would want, every kids dream, the ultimate prize for any serious BMXer.

In the early 1990′s Profile cranks surged in popularity especially with the street and ramp riders, But for serious, hardcore racers, Redline Flights are a must have. In our opinion, the 19mm 6 splined spindle, along with the pinch bolt design crank arm, is a superior design to the 48 spline, press fit concept that Profile uses.

These cranks are so easy to install and remove, but do require a little more maintence yes. You actually have to take care of your bike if you own a pair of Redlines. The horror!

Redlline Flight cranks are made from 2mm heat treated chromoly tubing,  with fully wrapped and welded pedal bosses for added strength. The spindle is of course 4130 chromolly as well, but for a real trick set-up, you may want to find a titanium spindle. A few years back everyone was making after market spindles and bottom brackets for Redline cranks, but now everyone just copies the Profile crank design and makes aftermarket parts for that.

We still feel the Redline design is a much more refined concept. As far as stregth, weight, cost, and ease of use, nothing beats Redline Flight cranks for BMX racing and trail riding.  These are not meant for street or ramp riding in our opinion.

By the way, the crank arms and spindle should run you about $90, the bottom bracket is sold seperatly. You should be able to find them in Black, Chrome, red or white.
